The Stone Extraction Umbrella for gallstone extraction
Locate the stone by using appropriate procedures.
If using a guide wire, the stylet has to be removed out of the catheter. To inject contrast medium while having the guide wire in place, please use the Luer-Lock (1) which is attached with a sealing cap.
Put the distal end of the umbrella catheter into direction of Ductus Hepaticus and position the folded umbrella (4) behind the gallstone.
Pull the plunger (6) backward to open the umbrella (4).
Push onto the lock (5) and than pull backward the plunger (6) for opening the umbrella
Ensure the position of the plunger (6)!
Fix the umbrella by rotation clockwise of the plunger
Slowly pull the umbrella catheter backward. The stone will be pulled out with the aid of the umbrella of the gall duct into the small intestine, can be rinsed at the same moment to get excreted.
Release lock (5) while turning anti-clockwise the plunger (6).
Push the plunger (6) forward to close the umbrella (4).
Make sure, the umbrella (4) is completely closed before you pull the instrument backward and out of the endoscope.
